Fit Test Australia's Bearded Past Comes Back to Haunt Them
Fit Test Australia (FTA), a company that claims to be specializing in respirator fit testing, recently took to LinkedIn to call out another RESP-FIT accredited company for allegedly ignoring the clean-shaven requirement for fit testing. In their post, FTA emphasized the importance of upholding the "highest safety standards" and not "bending the rules for convenience."

Sounds good, right? Except, there's a twist. It appears FTA may have conveniently forgotten their own history.
Evidence suggests that FTA wasn't always so strict about the clean-shaven rule. In fact, they seem to have been quite comfortable "bending the rules" themselves when it came to accommodating facial hair.
Remember the Singh Thattha beard wrap? FTA was all over that well before it gained approval. It seems they were happy to test people with facial hair when it suited their interests.
Here is an example from their own website

This begs the question: is FTA truly committed to safety standards, or are they simply trying to deflect attention from their own questionable past?
Furthermore, their criticism of another company for allegedly testing individuals with facial hair appears contradictory, considering their own history of accommodating facial hair with the beard wrap.
